Founder / Head Mechanic

Introducing, for those of you who don’t know him, STEVE. Steve is the face, the brains and the owner of SSM.

Steve started as an apprentice light vehicle mechanic in 2005 for City Ford. He soon moved to a local workshop, to see out the rest of his apprenticeship, and gained experience in everything from cars to buses and trucks, whilst topping his TAFE studies.

Since then he has run numerous workshops, for other owners, being a European workshop in the Eastern Suburbs and a local everyday workshop. In between he has dabbled in workshop equipment and was a store manager at Kmart Tyre and Auto.

He was offered positions as a helicopter mechanic and as an air traffic controller. Both opportunities were a highlight of his personal journey however both were declined by him as his passion is/was for motor vehicles.

Steve married his high school sweetheart and has a two year old son. Both keep him very busy in his free time.

Steve decided to take the plunge of opening SSM in 2017. He is determined to provide a premium service that is honest, trustworthy and reasonable to the residents of the Sutherland Shire.
