Steve Melton

Founder / Head Mechanic

Founder and Head Mechanic Steve started as an apprentice light vehicle mechanic in 2005 for City Ford before moving to a local workshop to see out the rest of his apprenticeship. During his time as an apprentice, Steve gained extensive experience in everything auto mechanical – from cars to buses and trucks – whilst topping his TAFE studies.

Since then he has run numerous renowned workshops for other owners, including a European workshop in the Eastern Suburbs, plus stints in workshop equipment and store management at Kmart Tyre and Auto.

Russ Hilliard

Lead Mechanic

Russ is originally from England in the UK, but now proudly calls Australia home. Russ started his mature-age apprenticeship with Southern Sydney Mechanical early in 2017. He is currently topping his studies and is a great attribute to the family business.

After many years travelling the world he married his Australian wife in Canada, being Emilie’s Sister. Other than travelling, Russ can be found skiing, bushwalking and playing tennis.

Emilie Melton

Service / Finance

Emilie is our part time administration and accounts person. She is also Steve’s wife. Emilie is a fulltime Chartered Accountant by occupation and is also busy raising their, two year old son, Porter.

Emilie has always lived, as well as schooled in the Shire, and grew up playing soccer for Gymea United. In her spare time, she travels the world and enjoys the finer things in life.
